Hello everyone and thanks for the welcome. I have always loved BL, Austin, Rover and MG cars, I have just come out of a decade long love affair with Rover 75s and MG ZTs of which I have owned and broken 8 cars over the last ten years. I have an MG TF and my current daily is a Ford Mondeo ST220. I have always fancied a 200 BRM so when I saw this one languishing in a barn I had to have it! It was delivered to me from Warwickshire and I have set about removing the entire interior to weld the roof and the new panels for the tailgate which is now done. I'm sure the car has been in the barn since 2016. It had an MOT in 2010 and another in 2016 but nothing seemed to be done with it. I now have 99% of the parts to complete, just need to order some panels etc to repair the sills. I'm really enjoying this project and hope to have it ready for Pride of Longbridge next year. The reg number is V940 FLK which I could not see on the build number thread although there was reference to it and there is a picture of it in the gallery.

Hi, and thanks for the welcome. I'm afraid I have very few details about the car, I can tell you it was supplied by SMC Rover in Slough and it remained in my local area for a number of years. (High Wycombe) It was serviced at Pedestal Garage a few miles from my house before going Warwickshire way and ending up in the barn. I did find it listed in the build record spreadsheet as number 589/548 with a user name of Mattbrm and there is a picture of it in the gallery presumably from around 2016 when it was last taken for an MOT. I have various MOT certificates and a few service receipts but not much in the way of history.

Greetings, well I can confirm you do have the correct build number for it, and thank you for confirming its retailing dealer. It was actually one of 18 cars which left compound on the same day - and were all were registered on a following single date too. Though the registration offices were spread from Taunton to London NW. The reason being to beat the 'deal' Rover were offering the trade to get cars registered before month end...
There is an interesting anomaly in the recorded DVLA data for this car, I think its had at least 8 owners, though that may not be what the V5 currently says.
Its the first BRM in the FLK registration series, which is an AFRL series. ie registered by the dealership by electronic link to DVLA. 7 cars are know in close numeric order. And quite a number more in preceding and following series for London NW LVO.
Correct, brmMatt was the owner in circa 2016, but it was traded as MoT failed in Nov 16 to the hoarding farmer - from where the dealer you bought from obtained his batch of rover stock..
I can provide your cars build story. Just message me and I can prepare it in the next couple of days.

Thank you for the information. The v5 says 6 previous owners but it hasn't been re-registered since 2016! I would be very grateful for the build story.
