7815A05E-1865-4A8F-A840-6C1558844AE5.jpeg I was unable to be at Castle Combe earlier this month due being down in West Bay for a bit of r&r, but a friend of mine sent me these pics from the WRDA (Welsh Racing Drivers Association) who had an away round at Combe. A very eclectic mix of cars but loved these :-

It looks like metallic paint. Different mirrors and obviously the wheels as well. But still looks good.

That is 'Andrew Williams' but beyond that I know nothing. about the car...except perhaps he is from Newport, generally runs a Clio and the BRM looks to be running in Saloon class 1600-2000...

Does advertise Matts Wraps on the front ,so may have been wrapped ,has one of my badges on the front ,though could be a sticker from before I did them ,which is why I thought it may have been our friend from the MG Cup.

And forum sticker on headlamps ,so must know him or car.

    His forum handle was WSP77.
Someone on our Facebook page says it is the same car we met at Gaydon. 6A57E278-F9AA-4D4E-A464-4B330B506D27.jpeg

Now that my error is exposed.. they have a Williams and Barron in their ranks. I went to BT class and the first 59 I saw was Mr Williams
But I know Andrew Barron as an occasional customer of mine!
But as an Aston Racer, and now I'm wondering if he told me last year he bought one....
So backtracking through my records this is 514/497... ex Wayne Stirling Parkers WSP77 racer you may recall with 8GGP now back on its original numberplate (which I do know). MoT'd to Oct22.
    Megafile corrected/updated.

Andrew has just been in touch with me, but in advance of his actually joining us here is his question....

When I finished the last race the electric windows didt work - so I
assumed it was fuse or rely. But all seem OK

But it turned out that the rear fog light - that is connected to the
rain light also does not work and neither does the cigare (Rover's
    words !) lighter socket

Now I have a VBox power spliced into the cigar lighter cables and
because of an issue I had it unplougged so the live may have shrted on
the chassis - but again no fuses appear to have failed

It appears that is is only these things that dont work

I am taking the center console off and I undid the switched and the 4
screws - but does the gear knob just unscrew?

When I try and pull the console up it appears stuck - is there
anything else holding it? Or is it just the cables for the window
    switches

If I cant work out why these things are not getting power I will wire
their feed direct to the Kill Switch

But I wanted to trace the wirse 1st just in case!

You don't need to remove the knob as it's a pain but if you do, you'll need a heat gun, a decent pair of mole grips and a good thick rag, as it's glued in place. There is a snap ring holding the gaiter in place. I've always managed by removing the clip and easing the console to one side. The centre console has two bolts/screws under the little removable cover where it meets the front console, then (remove ashtray)slacken the handbrake mounts, slide the console back a little and it should come out.

A good, nylon strapped filter remover may help removing the gear stick without damaging it, I have used this in the past!

Heat gun and a welding glove worked for me.
