I forgot to say, I was speaking to someone just before we left, who said they stumbled upon a BRM in the wild a few years back and spoke to the owner, who apparently had 13 of them in his collection. Do we have any ideas who this might have been?
I met someone at a car show, in the dim and distant past, who said exactly the same thing! I remember looking at his car which was a sorry looking sight and thinking "bullshit"! .....I've since seen him driving local to me on 1 or 2 occasions, he and the car still look very scruffy!
I do not know, who or where that may be. I would have thought that we would have got a name or location by now though. Incidentally I am way down from those heady numbers now, and mine are roughly split RHD/LHD and all bar one are abroad.. Enjoy the show...If you havent collected yet, all your 'stuff ' is with Guy in hall4
We went looking in that area yesterday but didn't find anyone there. For the stands already setup, they were wrapped in sheeting. Others were missing entirely. We're going to head over today
Sunroof now out of @GT- s car! this wiring is worth noting, it was trapped on a ounce point and has become flat! So will re-route this on assembly! Whilst we want to replace the material on the blind it appears the roof does not work as it should and on closer inspection we found this! O/S is good N/S is broken! @clansman had the same issue so now it’s a hunt for metal and screws to fix!
I think he's trying to put a certain Fuzz Townsend out of a job and also rename the television programme BRM SOS.
Hope you chaps get everything done tomorrow and Sunday. I got home after a fraught journey. (M6 & M1 traffic + accident!). See you at P.O.L.
Shame I can't make it I have just had a hour operation on my eye I have to be face down for two weeks with a ten minute break every hour just I get my sight back.
Something perhaps not always apparent in the sunroof mechanism is the drip tray, that moves and slides with the sunroof itself. It's a short horizontal tray that catches the drips from the sunroof, and directs the water to the two channels that run each side of the mechanism under the roof and let the water run out of the drains. If this breaks at any point, the water ends up in the headlining...
Best wishes Ray Before you cant... Slap some anti drumming pads on the top of the sunroof blind otherwise it will look good, but still clang like a tin can! And use a trim tool to tuck the liner in behind the fingerg-grip well, otherwise it'll just fall away there. I'd be inclined to knock off the projection welded rivets so the finger grip can be removed. Re fit by drilling pilot holes in the remains of the bosses, and use stubby little screws and some spacer washers to re fit. Wrt the liner, wrap it through the finger-grip slot and glue on the top side of the blind.
@BRMFUN working hard on @Antony Parsons wiring loom. I gave the sunroof frame a bit of a quick wipe down too.
Thanks to @Roverlike for posting me to a wiring diagram at short notice and confirming fuse numbers!!! Still have an issue with the high level brake light! Multimeter will be on site Sunday! It seemed like a very busy day today and I am knackered!!!
