Greetings everyone! It's taken a quarter of a century, but our beloved Rover 200 BRM Limited Editions have reached, or are soon to reach 25 years old. To commemorate the occasion, I would like to propose the commission of a 25th Anniversary Collectors Trophy! As such, I have put together a design and working prototype! Please note the following pictures are of a functional prototype only and are not 100% representative of the final proposed product. For example, the base will be a familiar dark green, plus the shading and design of the other parts are subject to change as part of continuous improvement. Measuring approx 14cm (W) x 12cm (D) x 12cm (H) and is based around a 1:5 scale Cosmos alloy wheel. Please also note: Some of you may have seen an early draft I took to POL, which was 1:4 scale, so please keep in mind this is smaller! Key features: 1:5 scale Cosmos inspired wheel. Flexible tyre (it will squish). Frankfurt prototype inspired tyre wall lettering. Wheel is removable for play, storage or transport. Shiny silver 'bumper' inserts. Distinctive BRM-inspired orange mouth-plate. 3D raised lettering showing 25 Years of the Rover 200 BRM LE. Motorsport trophy inspired presentation stand. The trophy would be made from bio-plastics (excluding the tyre) so is hardy, lightweight and suitable for display, but not in prolonged direct sunlight or where temperatures are high enough to cause deformation e.g. in a window on a sunny day. (I'm looking at you, Gaydon 2022 with your infernal 40°!!!) This will be a low-volume, limited edition item. Current estimated pricing is £20+p&p, subject to demand and final production process. Feedback is greatly welcomed and appreciated, some tweaks to the design are still possible in response to such feedback. If you are interested in acquiring one, please complete the attached poll so I can easily track the numbers to shape the size of a production run. UPDATE 07/11/23: Pilot batch photo! @BRMFUN Received. @Antony Parsons @Red @Hamness In transit. @Birtie7271 Received. @bennyboy7777 @clansman
A small update! Due to ill health, I've not made as much progress as I would have liked. I had challenges with getting the painting consistent for the lettering, paint doesn't stick to rubber very well So I've been working towards actual lettering, similar to the base of the trophy. Still a challenge with the rubber, but less so. Anyway, here's an early look. It's meant the letter themselves have had to be larger to be able to actually make them.
Dimensions are after the photos of the first post I can make the wheel slightly larger, upto about 15x15cm, but this is scaled with the largest piece being within that area and everything within scaled to fit. For larger still, we would be talking about making it in parts and assembling. If you want something specific, drop me a PM.
I know from the cars they look better than your close up shots ,when seen in the flesh ,ie as your cars
